How often do I need to get my kitchen exhaust hood cleaned? N.F.P.A. 96 2008 Edition guidelines list the suggested inspection intervals based on cooking type and volume. We currently have customers that we clean every 2 months, 3 months, 4 months, semi-annually and annually.
What is N.F.P.A. 96? It is the kitchen exhaust industry guideline encompassing all aspects of an exhaust system from proper installation to proper cleaning methods and intervals.
I have my filters serviced regularly. Isn't that enough? Filter service is very common but this only offers the minimum amount of protection. How dirty is the area behind your filters? In the duct? Or on the fan? These are critical areas of the exhaust that can feed a fire when dirty.
When can you clean my hood? Any time. Whether you want us there before the kitchen opens or after you have stopped cooking for the day, we can accommodate your schedule.
How long does it take? Time varies based on the size of the exhaust system, and the amount of grease contamination. A regularly maintained system takes about 2-2 1/2 hours.
How much will it cost? The cost of a properly cleaned kitchen exhaust system is minimal when compared to the cost of a catastrophic loss that can result from neglect.
Will you leave a mess like the last cleaner? Absolutely not. Leaving a mess is a sign of an inconsiderate cleaner. We will drape the entire hood in fresh plastic and cover any sensitive areas of your kitchen as well. And when we are finished we will restore our workspace to the condition we found it in.
